NETTIE-ISM #3

Waking up is your starting point.

MATTHEW 6:11
Give us this day our daily bread.

Whatever mistakes I made yesterday matter only because of the lesson or lessons I have learned. Everyday is a new day to begin again.

Matthew 6:34
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

If you want to do something for your tomorrow make today successful.

NETTIE-ISM #2

Self-indulgence never makes a person happy, it only leaves them wanting more.

PROVERBS 27:20 NIV
Death and Destruction are never satisfied, and neither are human eyes.

The idea that a person has to have (fill in the blank) and then when she gets it needs more is a clue as to the existence of a self-indulgent desire.

When a person gets angry because something is not done exactly as he requested, despite the individual performing the task the best that he could, is an indication of an unsatisfied soul.

Standing in line for hours to purchase a new cell phone, going into debt to purchase unnecessary items, drug addictions, or the inability to maintain long-term relationships are indications of personal dissatisfaction. No, you may not die physically but your heart becomes hardened to the truth of God’s blessings and your soul dies a little with every self-indulgent act.

Financial and relational destruction can occur when a person puts his or her needs ahead of others,

MATTHEW 5:6 THE VOICE
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness—they will be filled.

It is not wrong to do things for yourself the error comes in satisfying yourself at the expense of others. Living life God’s way brings joy.

MY COUNTRY CITY PROJECT: MAKING STUFF

At some point it becomes an obsession but as obsessions go I think it is a healthy obsession. I love to make stuff! I like to think I am saving money, however, some things like sewing have an initial high up front cost.

There are some long term benefits to doing it yourself. I have clothes that I made over 10 years ago that I can still wear. By purchasing 2 $4 Tomato plants I harvested enough tomatoes for months saving more than my initial investment- which included fertilizer. Home made last a long time and can save money.

Some people get carried away and spend tons of money believing they will do “this” forever only to become discouraged and quit. Like any project it is important to start with something simple and see if you like it. Especially, sewing. Like a new relationship a person should look deep before she leaps.

I have been using homemade deodorant for more than 2 years.  I started making my own in 2016, prior to that my daughter made it for me and it was very difficult for her to get me to just try it. Some people are very sensitive to various deodorants and either spend a lot of money on special store bought brand or make their own. After trying what my daughter made and having to wait for her to make a new batch when I ran out I began making my own. It is amazing how long my batch last and how well it works!  Cost wise I would say it is cheaper than buying a stick of deodorant for one dollar at the dollar store and as for quality it works. There are no complaints about me in the South Florida heat.

Making stuff for me includes re-purposing. Why send something to the recycle depot when you can re-purpose it? Baby food jars become candle containers, and the plastic coffee containers become planters. I have also used Pringle’s chip containers for soap molds. No, I am not a tree hugging save the planet global warming liberal ideology person. I am a God loving, practical living, don’t waste money conservative thinking woman. Why would I spend dollars for a jar, planter or soap mold when I can reuse what I already have; eventually these things may go in the recycle bin but not today.

I find it interesting that I do not have high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes or any other diseases associated with people who are getting older. I take no prescription drugs but most of my sisters do. I attribute my good health to living a simple life and doing things that will benefit me and my household and not stressing out about the problems of this world.

Though crafting is a personal choice it does not have to be a solo activity. I make: deodorant, laundry detergent, soap, and soy candles. I sew various things including clothes; I also knit and crochet. (I have not done it in a while but I do know how to hand embroidery.) And I plant stuff. I don’t do these projects with other people however I am part of a a few groups on Social Media and do talk about these activities with others within the group. It’s fun.

I think everybody can make something. You just have to try different things until you discover the skills within you. xxx written by Marsha L F Randolph

A MATTER OF FAITH: TRUE LOVE

To know the greatest love is to understand the love of God. You may or may not feel appreciated by those around you but nothing can compare to the True gift of our Lord Jesus.

PSALM 139 THE EXPANDED BIBLE
1) Lord, you have ·examined [investigated; searched] me and know all about me.
2) You know when I sit down and when I ·get up [rise]. You ·know [understand] my thoughts ·before I think them [L- from afar].
3) You ·know [L- measure] ·where I go [L- my path] and ·where I lie down [L- my lying down]. You ·know [are familiar with] ·everything I do [L- all my path].
4) Lord, even ·before I say a word [L- when no word is on my tongue], you already know ·it [L- all of it].
5) You ·are all around me [L- hem me in]—in front and in back—  and have put your hand on me.
6) Your knowledge is ·amazing [wonderful; or overwhelming] to me; it is ·more than I can understand [too high/unattainable. I am not able to grasp it; Rom. 11:33].
7) Where can I go to get away from your Spirit? Where can I ·run [flee] from you?
8) If I ·go [climb] up to the heavens, you are there. If I ·lie down [spread out; make my bed] in ·the grave [L- Sheol; C- the grave or the underworld], you are there.
9) If I rise with the ·sun in the east [L- wings of the dawn]  and settle in the ·west beyond [L- back of] the sea,
10) even there ·you [L- your hand] would guide me. With your right hand you would ·hold [grab; seize] me.
11) I could say, “The darkness will ·hide [cover] me. Let the light around me turn into night.”
12) But even the darkness is not dark to you. The night ·is as light as [shines like] the day; darkness and light are the same to you.
13) You ·made [created] my ·whole being [inward parts];   you ·formed [knitted] me in my mother’s ·body [belly; womb].
14) I ·praise [thank] you because you made me in an ·amazing [awesome] and wonderful way.  What you have done is wonderful. I know this very well.
15) ·You saw my bones being formed [L My bones were not hidden from you]- as I ·took shape [was made] in ·my mother’s body [L- secret]. When I was ·put together [L- woven] ·there [L- in the depths of the earth],
16)·you [L- your eyes] saw my ·body as it was formed [L- embyro]. All the days ·planned [L- formed] for me were written in your book ·before I was one day old [not one of them existed].
17) God, your thoughts are precious to me. ·They are so many [L- How vast are their sum; Job 42:3]!
18) If I could count them, they would be more than all the grains of sand. When I ·wake up [or come to the end], I am still with you.
19) God, I wish you would kill the wicked! Get away from me, you ·murderers [L- people of blood]!
20) They ·say evil things about [make evil plans against] you.  Your enemies ·use your name thoughtlessly [L- lift in vain; Ex. 20:7].
21) Lord, ·I hate [L- Do I not hate…?] those who hate you;     ·I hate [L- Do I not abhor…?] those who rise up against you.
22) I ·feel only hate for them [L- hate them with a perfect/complete hatred]; they are my enemies.
23) God, ·examine [investigate; search; v. 1] me and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.
24) See if there is any ·bad thing [hurtful way] in me. Lead me on the ·road to everlasting life [L- everlasting/or ancient way].

True love is never about receiving it is about giving.   There was evil all around him, David wanted God to do something about that but in the end David said: “Search me, O God, and know my heart;” (vs. 23 NKJV). The more David discovered how much God loves him despite his faults the more David loved God.

God is eternal, He will always be with you. People will come into your life and go either by death or because they have moved on. You will come and go into other people’s lives, and yes some day you too will transition into eternity. God’s love is eternal, it is true love- Jesus is the manifest presence of God's love.  xxx written by Marsha L F Randolph

A MATTER OF FAITH: GOD THINKS YOUR STUPID!

This morning I had this thought: God thinks we are stupid! Perhaps ‘stupid’ is the wrong term, God thinks it takes a lot for us to determine what is the right way to live and the wrong way to live.

Think about the the books of the law in the Old Covenant, they are very detailed. Our Lord Jesus teaches grown folks about life by telling stories; but then he has to explain the meaning of His parables to the very ones who have to teach the others.  The apostle Paul said it gently: I don’t want you to be ignorant.
ROMANS 1:13 KJV
Now I would not have you ignorant, brethren, that oftentimes I purposed to come unto you, (but was let hitherto,) that I might have some fruit among you also, even as among other Gentiles.
The New King James Version changed the wording to “I do not want you to be unaware,” it means the same thing- don’t be stupid. One of the definitions for stupid is: lacking or marked by lack of intellectual acuity (Scrivener WorldNet Dictionary). Many of us lack intellectual acuity, the ability to think quick, and we are following false doctrine instead of applying God’s word and common sense to what we are being taught. God said:
HOSEA 4:6
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me; because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children.
In my ebook BROKEN & NOT A$HAMED I discuss how works minded many Christians are based on what they are being told by their church leader. Many people attend church regularly, give of their tithes and offerings and some even go on missionary trips. These church members are doing great until some type of crisis comes and they don’t know what to do their lives seem to be destroyed! The knowledge many of us have is based on what someone has told us not what the Holy Spirit has revealed through the Word of God.

In Romans the Apostle Paul was concerned because he was not able to personally come and teach the believers about Jesus the Son of God. “For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift,-”  he said in his letter (Romans 1:11). The Apostle knew what we should know: In order to have a personal relationship with Father God we must have a solid foundation of God’s Word.

God said in Hosea: His people are destroyed because of what they do not know. Whenever I come against a problem I have to ask myself: What is it I don’t know? Often what we know is based on what someone incorrectly told us.

Who does not have a Bible? Many churches give Bibles away. The dollar store has Bibles for- yes, one dollar. Bibles are available on-line for free. Bibles come in print and audio versions as well as video. Last year I had 2 contest to give away Bibles- there was not much interest. It is stupid, lacking intellectual acuity, to reject the life giving word found in the Bible.
2 TIMOTHY 3:16 THE EXPANDED BIBLE
All Scripture is ·inspired by God [breathed out by God; L-  God-breathed] and is useful for teaching, for ·showing people what is wrong in their lives [refuting error; rebuking], for correcting faults, and for ·teaching how to live right [training in righteousness].
What is happening today is what the Apostle Paul and other teachers of God’s word go through great lengths to avoid- false teachings. The consequences of believing the wrong thing is that a person will not fully receive God’s truths and perish.
2 PETER 2:1-2
But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction. And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed.
It is happening today! Some teachings are more obvious than others. I suspect many church leaders started out teaching God’s word and slowly began personally adding leaven to their personal lives ( A little leaven leavens the whole lump. Galatians 5:6): as the leader begins compromising his life he begins compromising the lives of those he teaches. And there are others who never followed the teachings of Christ and became church leaders with the intent of turning people away from the Truth. I cannot say it often enough: STUDY THE BIBLE YOURSELF!!!
MATTHEW 15:8-9 THE EXPANDED BIBLE
These people show honor to me with ·words [L- their lips],    but their hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is ·worthless [futile; in vain]. The things [doctrines] they teach are nothing but human ·rules [commandments; Is. 29:13].’”
If you read any of my books including MOVING FORWARD BY FAITH or BROKEN & NOT A$HAMED you know I struggled with my relationship with church. It was when I started studying the word of God on my own that I began experiencing the peace and blessings available to me.

Whether you are part of a church or going to join one get your own Bible and know what God said for yourself. You don’t need a title to understand Scripture God will reveal His truths to you.
JAMES 1:5
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
It is important to understand the whys of a particular church and compare it to God’s word. For example: there are churches that endorse homosexuality and use Bible verses to justify it. If you study God’s word you will know that homosexuality is not an acceptable behavior. Church doctrine, the whys within a particular group, molds the messages preached. In following a church, denominational or non-denominational, you are following man not Jesus.
1 TIMOTHY 1:5-7 THE MESSAGE
The whole point of what we’re urging is simply love—love uncontaminated by self-interest and counterfeit faith, a life open to God. Those who fail to keep to this point soon wander off into cul-de-sacs of gossip. They set themselves up as experts on religious issues, but haven’t the remotest idea of what they’re holding forth with such imposing eloquence.
I am not a fan of the Message Bible however I think this emphasizes the need to study God’s word yourself. There are so many people who profess to know God’s word and present themselves as church leaders but are not called by God to do so (Romans 8:29-30). I have sat in churches in which the Preacher spoke with such eloquence, with what seemed like authority but upon close inspection it was powerless preaching. What does the New King James Translation say?
1 TIMOTHY 1:7
desiring to be teachers of the law, understanding neither what they say nor the things which they affirm.
God said in Hosea, we perish because of a lack of knowledge yet there are churches everywhere. Bibles are available in a variety of formats and languages. Perhaps His people are not stupid but just plain LAZY! Fat to many people crave feel good messages.
TITUS 1:10-11
For there are many insubordinate, both idle talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision, whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole households, teaching things which they ought not, for the sake of dishonest gain.
Take a look at what is happening today. Anger and destruction, rebellious children, grown women acting unbecomingly, men side-stepping there God given positions and church leaders manipulating God’s word for their own personal gain.

You might be saying: But that does not mean God thinks I am stupid?  The world focuses on semantics today thus a better way of presenting information is to declare: You are spiritually ignorant?
ISAIAH 59:8 THE EXPANDED BIBLE
They don’t know ·how to live in [L- the path/way of] peace,    and there is no ·fairness [justice] in their ·lives [paths]. They ·are dishonest [act deceitfully; L- have made their paths/ways crooked].  Anyone who ·lives as they live [walks on them] will never ·have [know] peace.
If you are struggling examine the basis of what you believe. For example: Have you ever heard the expression- “God helps those who help themselves?” This is not true! The Bible teaches: give and you will get (Luke 6:38). Blessing yourself is a worldly concept that has crept into the church. Perhaps it is not God who thinks you are stupid but the individuals you have decided are qualified to teach you with authority not given to them by God.

EPHESIANS 4:17-18
This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind,  having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart;
JEREMIAH 5:4
Therefore I said, “Surely these are poor. They are foolish;
for they do not know the way of the Lord, the judgment of their God.
MICAH 4:12
But they don’t know·what the Lord is thinking [the thoughts of the Lord]; they don’t understand his plan. He has gathered them like ·bundles of grain [sheaves] to the threshing floor.
ROMANS 10:3 THE VOICE
In their ignorance about how God is working to make things right, they have been trying to establish their own right standing with God through the law. But they are not operating under God’s saving, restorative justice.
Father God said “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” He delivered these words through the Prophet Hosea and there were many people delivering God’s word to His people yet they were being destroyed! Ephesians, Jeremiah, Micah and Romans each of the above Scriptures talk about what a person does not know. God does not think you are stupid perhaps you just lack intellectual acuity. xxx written by Marsha L F Randolph

NO POLITICAL AFFILIATION: ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION

Laws are established to maintain order, it also provides an equal starting point for individual lifestyles. It does not matter who you are or where you come from the law is to be adhered to or there will be consequences. This principle of actions and response are present within the Bible and the government.

Unfortunately, today, many have become very good at disregarding the law in order to advance personal desires. This is true not only for those who call themselves believers in God but political leaders as well. This breaking of the law has become standard operating procedure. Immigration guidelines is one of the laws that is being ignored by many.

I have had an opinion on illegal immigration for quite a while and have voiced it to many; I have yet, until now, written my opinion. My delay is the knowledge that I have many non-American born friends who have much stronger feelings than I on this topic; I have yielded my voice to allow them to speak both the pros and the cons. But as I listen to the rhetoric of various politicians and the reports on the news I hear the topic of illegal immigration from a Hispanic point of view not an American one.

The one thing I have not been silent on is Haitian immigration. When I first moved to South Florida I would hear reports of Cubans and Haitians arriving in America- the Cubans were received and the Haitians sent back to their country. The idea that a group of people received preferential treatment and another group who was suffering just as much if not worst was not right.

When I lived up north I had quite a few friends that were born outside of the USA. These individuals came from various countries in Africa as well as Europe an Asia. It cost quite a bit of money for them to get here, thousands of American dollars. It also took years to become an American citizen.

In enduring their journey to citizenship my friends came to love this country.

With the knowledge of my friends, who came here legally, struggles I cannot endorse illegal immigration. In doing so it becomes unfair to those who did things the right way.

What bothers me today more than anything else is the media’s emphasis on Spanish speaking migration. The media presents a scenario in which individuals come to this country to work in the fields ‘picking cotton’ and cleaning toilets, though this may be a stepping stone for some it is not a lifetime activity.

Using someone else’s Social Security number, identity theft- another crime- far to many illegal aliens obtain good jobs. These individuals, who paid nothing into the system, take advantage of every government benefit they can get- shelter, food, health care, and education. This is not right.

I support helping individuals in other countries develop farms for food, build low cost housing and educate as many people as are willing to learn.

I also support sending everyone- man, woman and child- back to their country and having them re-enter the correct way. How tragic- a child born in America being sent back to his or her parents country! That is not as bad as a veteran who risked his physical and mental life for this country not being able to get the care he or she needs while illegals get everything. When these individuals are sent back I support there being able to return LEGALLY.

For the record I do not support people coming into this country who hate Americans. I also encourage those who promised to leave if Donald Trump became President to do as they said- go.

In the Old Testament people who did not obey the law died instantly. God did not play! In the New Testament we have mercy- a time to correct our wrong behavior- until Jesus returns. The government is not God and God is not the government, you will not be struck dead for disobeying the law and if you were here long enough to create a family you were here long enough to become a legal citizen. I stand with our government as they enforce the laws of the land.

With all of the attention on Spanish speaking people no one realizes that HAITIANS ARE BEING SENT BACK AND NO ONE IS SAYING ANYTHING. xxx written by Marsha L F Randolph

A MATTER OF FAITH: ANATOMY OF A PRAYER REQUEST PT. 2

It is important that a person have a solid foundation of faith. This only comes through personal Bible study. Once upon a time we could trust our church leaders to teach us the word of God unfiltered but today Political Correctness and corporate needs (mega churches have a capitalist corporation mindset) has become a stumbling block to faith in our Lord and Saviour.

My ebook BEFORE YOU PRAY FOR ME presents the foundations of faith to help you reinforce what you know or establish what you do not know.

As I mentioned in the PART 1 of this post I created a prayer table with six prayer request listed, one has been answered and two are actually not even listed within the table.

Jesus said we are to ask what we want and we would have it (Matthew 7:7-8).  David revealed in a Psalm: Father God gives us desires as long as we delight in Him (Psalm 37:4). But James cautioned us to make sure we asked with the right intent (James 4:3).

Jesus also instructed us to believe that we had received what we asked for (Mark 11:24). However it is important to know that words have significance in heaven. (Psalm 5:8-9, Proverbs 18:21)Thus, what you are listening to and who you are listening to can influence what you believe which will influence the answer to your prayer (Romans 3:3-4)

As I stated in last weeks post: “It is not Father God who did not answer your prayer it is you who rejected His answer.”

What I am presenting to you are 7 Concepts Of Prayer, using a personal experience to illustrate these ideas. The concepts are:

  1. KNOW WHAT YOU WANT
  2. KNOW WHY YOU WANT IT
  3. ASK
  4. BELIEVE
  5. RECEIVE
  6. DON’T DOUBT
  7. UNDERSTAND THE PROCESS.

On my previous post I discussed the first 3 ideas and touched on believe. Believing and receiving go hand in hand thus it is important that you know what it is you actually believe.

As my sewing skills improved I determined that a serger sewing machine would be beneficial. My research consisted of listening to and reading the reviews about various sergers, pricing them and watching tutorials on how the machine worked. Why is this important?

My relationship with the sewing machine began before I became personally involved with it. I got to know about sewing, then I discovered various stitches as well as what my standard sewing machine could and could not do. I appreciated the idea of finishing off my sewing project with a professional looking finish and keep edges of fabric from unraveling without the use of binding. The more information I received the more I wanted to have a serger.

A relationship with God the Father involves this same principle. The more you seek Him the more He will reveal Himself to you.

JAMES 4:8 THE VOICE
Come close to the one true God, and He will draw close to you. Wash your hands; you have dirtied them in sin. Cleanse your heart, because your mind is split down the middle, your love for God on one side and selfish pursuits on the other.
PSALM 73:28 THE VOICE
But the closer I am to You, my God, the better because life with You is good.  O Lord, the Eternal, You keep me safe—I will tell everyone what You have done.
Hebrews 11:6
But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Diligence is important when seeking an answer to a prayer.  I researched and found a machine that I could afford- cash not credit- and one that had positive reviews. I posted a note on the bulletin board in my office that said: Brother 1034D $229. And I continued working on my sewing projects.

Regardless of what it is that you are praying for life goes on and you must continue to live it.

I chose not to hem skirts that I had made but instead made the conscious decision to wait for the serger I had not yet ordered it because I did not have the funds.

HEBREWS 11:1 THE EXPANDED
Faith means ·being sure [the assurance; or the tangible reality; or the sure foundation] of the things we hope for and ·knowing that something is real even if we do not see it [the conviction/assurance/evidence about things not seen].

Receiving comes after believing. I believed I had it but doubt began creeping in. Instead of giving up I prayed, reminding Father God of my desire and His promise. The next day I got the money.

MARK 11:23
For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.

When the money arrived a new dilemma came to mind- there are other things that I could use the money for. I could buy the Expanded Bible and still pay a bill, again I prayed. As I talked to Father God about my concerns I realized that it was what I had prayed for; God knew I had bills.

MARK 11:23-24
For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.
I was on the verge of doubting that Father God had provided a way for me to get my sewing machine but I remembered his promises and so I ordered the machine for $188! Forty-one dollars cheaper than what I had anticipated paying for; and cheaper than Walmart. My only compromise was the delivery date: I could have paid more and had the machine on Friday (the day after my birthday) but I can wait.

Some prayer answers do not manifest right away, that does not mean God said no it just means it is on the way. As I write this my sewing machine is on the way- but I already have it.

The process for receiving my Brother 1034D serger is as follows:

  1. Wednesday, February 22, I placed an order from jet.com website, the payment was removed     from my account- debt paid.
  2.  Friday 2/24 the package is at Federal Express in AUSTELL, GA
  3. Saturday in transport from Austella, GA to Belle Isle FL
  4. Sunday in Belle Isle FL briefly and then in transit from Belle Isle FL to Orlando Fl
  5. Monday the package arrived in Orlando and sent to FedEx location in Maimi FL
  6. Tuesday 5:55 AM arrived at facility in Miami for delivery
  7.  Tuesday 7:13 AM on truck for delivery                                                                                          - Tuesday, February 28, 2017 2:46:36 PM STILL NOT HERE

The Federal Express Center is a 5 minute drive from my house. I am anxiously awaiting my Brother 1034D Serger- I know it is coming but it is not here.

Consider this:

  • I could have gone to the store and purchased this same machine for $229 or more and received it the same day.
  • I could have ordered from another on-line place and paid extra to have it delivered sooner.
  • I could have ordered and picked it up sooner at a designated sight.
  • I chose to wait.

One of the hardest things it for us to do is know that we have answer to our prayers according to His promises which are for His purpose.
EPHESIANS 1:11-12
In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will, that we who first trusted in Christ should be to the praise of His glory.
JAMES 1:17
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.

I was able to wait because after years of trying to do things my way I have learned that my way leads to problems. I have, over the years, developed an appreciation for the final concept to answered prayers which is to: UNDERSTAND THE PROCESS.

My Brother 1034D
I went into detail regarding the transportation of my package because there was indeed a process. Often we take matters in our own hands once we pray. We use a credit card instead of waiting for God to give show us how we can pay by cash. We have surgery instead of exercising to lose wait. We read horoscopes instead of praying and letting the Holy Spirit guide us. It cost to do things your way.

Tuesday February 28,, 2017 at 4:02 pm the FedEx truck pulled up in front of my home with a big purple box! Inside was my Brother 1034D that I paid not $229 or even $190 but $188 dollars for! My total cost came to $199.93. Had would have paid about $245 with taxes and over $250 to have it delivered fast.

Yes, God answers prayers! You just need to be there to receive it from Him.  xxx written by Marsha L F Randolph

BACK2BASICS: SLOW DOWN

Back2Basics is as the title implies going back to a simpler lifestyle. Far to many have allowed advertisements and  personalities to tell them how to live and think. Common sense has become devalued; research has become obsolete.

Once upon a time traditions were embraced as a way to maintain a family culture; an environment of love and appreciation. Over the years traditions have been perverted or considered unnecessary. Being traditional meant you knew how to solve your own problems without the input of outside forces, it meant you were not dependent on government entities, psychological data, educational standards or technological advances. Once upon a time being traditional was a good thing.

The airwaves are full of information that declare what you should have. It is the newest, the fastest, the biggest, the sexiest, the most necessary whats’-it you can have.  You are told: who is bad and who is good, what is wrong and what is right. But, none of this is significant. Much of the information out there is wrong.

In going back to basics you must think about what you believe and why you believe it. Going back to basics requires your ignoring trends. It also means slowing your life down a bit in order to do things without being dependent on something that may not be here tomorrow.

How many things do you have that you can do without? In order to determine the answer you must first determine what it is you think you have to have. Here are a few things that we have to make life ‘easier’-

  • Microwave
  • Newest cell phone
  • Latest television
  • New car with all the electronic gadgets built-in
  • Multiple cars
  • Extravagant vacations
  • Credit Cards

The world wants you to move faster than you should but after  over 2,000 years of existence there is still only 24 hours in a day. Those who die with a lot of toys don’t take it with them.    xxx written by Marsha L F Randolph

INTRODUCING: NETTIE-ISMS- NETTIE-ISM #1

NETTIE-ISM -the various thoughts ideas and expressed opinions of Nettie a.k.a. Marsha L F Randolph. A group of Nettie-ism produce a particular philosophy commonly referred to as NETTIE-OLOGY.

NETTIE-ISM #1 BLESSED

I wake up some mornings and cannot believe how blessed I am! Yes, I have struggles. Yes, I have heart ache and pain!  All of that proves that the God I serve is with me because I make it through - daily!

If you can’t see the blessings Father God has given you then you need to look again!

Psalm 34:8 KJV
O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.
