1 JOHN 3:13
Do not marvel, my brethren, if the world hates you.
The emotion hate is real; people really do hate ideas and the people who accept them. The reason they do not like those who believe in Scripture is because there are infallible truths that many want to deny. Not every Christian is hated because not every person who says they are a Christian has actually submitted to the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
Some people have confessed with their mouth but do not believe in their heart. Only God knows what is in the heart.
But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Everyone knows the Word of God (Romans 1:19-32) and choose to ignore the obvious truths. Christians have heard the Word preached yet choose to live according to the world (James 1:22). The world looks at these pseudo-Christians and think those who follow Scripture are the ones who need to change.
“If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.
There is a joke I often hear: If you live your life and never run into the devil, it is because you are both running in the same direction.
The world hates Christians and they are doing everything possible to get Christians to discount the Bible. But aren’t we part of the world? Shouldn’t we do everything possible to get along with unbelievers? No.
1 JOHN 4:4
You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.
Christians are not of this world. Though we live here our home is the Kingdom of God. (Romans 14:17, 1 Corinthians 4:20, Luke 17:21) Those of us who chose to follow Jesus are different. We obey the laws of this land but submit to the Word of God. We love the sinner but hate the sin; we call sin- sin. This is a kingdom principle that people of this world cannot understand.
I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
The world does not want people to know about the joy and peace that comes from living according to Scripture and not how one feels. There are hundreds of individuals who once lived the homosexual lifestyle but now live heterosexual lives and are very happy. There are those who either had or contemplated an abortion but now choose life, by trusting God and not man they live in peace. Guilt and condemnation come from living according to the flesh, how you feel; joy and peace comes from living according to the Spirit of God.
Those who live according to the flesh blame others for the lack of peace in their lives. They are angry and transfer their anger onto men and women of faith. They coerce government officials to pass laws that would harm Christians and apply various tactics in an attempt to financially ruin Christian businesses. They teach children that their Christian parents are wrong and through peer pressure attempt to indoctrinate them into believing the lie of other faiths.
Why? You might ask is this A MATTER OF FAITH Bible study? Because far to many Christians are becoming tired and submitting to the ways of the world.
1 Timothy 4:1-3
Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron, forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.
This is what we see today. There are church leaders who have ceased to preach God’s Word but have developed their own ideology, Bible interpretation. Each of us have a responsibility to study and know the word.
because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things.
Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.
For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.
And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting;
Because of my stance on abortion, homosexuality, Sororities and Fraternities, the Masons and even Islam many friends and family have distanced themselves from me. And I have distanced myself from them; we all have to choose.
Are you going to be moved because a loved one no longer likes you? Will you become so desperate for a spouse that you will compromise God’s word? You have to decide how you are going to live. God knows the world hates His children and the world knows God loves His children.
Study the Bible for yourself. It is important to know the beginning, the middle and the end not from what someone told you but what was revealed to you by the spirit that is in you. Eternity is a long time to spend in hell just because you could not handle the anger of people in this world.
Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. 4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”
