2 TIMOTHY 3:16-17
All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Many study Bibles have a guide to help you read the Bible in one year. I always recommend people read the entire Bible straight through at least once and then read it again slowly.
For those who are new believers reading the New Testament (I prefer the New Covenant) first will help. I have heard a Bible teacher say: The Old Testament is Jesus concealed the New Testament is Jesus revealed.

THERE ARE 66 Books in the Bible
26 in the New Covenant
40 in the Old Covenant

260 in the New Covenant
929 in the Old Covenant
The Longest chapter in the Bible is Psalm 119
The Middle and shortest chapter in the Bible is Psalm 117

7,959 in the New Covenant
23,214 Old Covenant

Depending on the translation there are 807,361 WORDS IN THE BIBLE

ACTS 11:26 NIV
Then Barnabas went to Tarsus to look for Saul, and when he found him, he brought him to Antioch. So for a whole year Barnabas and Saul met with the church and taught great numbers of people. The disciples were called Christians first at Antioch.

On a recent post I coined a phrase ‘un-Christian Christian.’  To be a Christian a person must be a follower of Jesus the Christ; far to many follow man.

A disciple is a student, a person who is learning which is an ongoing process.  Having a PhD in Theology does not mean you know all there is to know about the Bible; it is an indication that you have fulfilled the institutions requirements for learning a subject. Those who know God’s word believe in  and submit to what is written are called Christian.

John 14:6
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

It is popular today to promote a particular ideology and weave it into Scripture. Thus homosexuality and abortion are declared acceptable forms of behavior. When I hear of religious leaders stating that they will allow Muslim services to be held in their buildings I cringe. Leaders of various churches present doctrine, how the church interprets Scripture, as biblical though it may not be- as in the case of polygamy.
Many people consider themselves Christians with footnotes. They know that the Bible speaks against certain behaviors but because he, she or a loved one lives a particular lifestyle which goes against God’s word they want to believe God understands.  Yes, we all sin and fall short of God’s expectations. The footnote is that there are some who before, during, and or  after a behavior know that God does not sanction such an act but do it anyway- they set aside their faith to do what they want to do.
When I read stories about churches who ordain Lesbians as church leaders and perform same sex unions I look up. It is because of God’s mercy that Jesus has not come yet!
When I hear about churches who are taking down symbols of Christianity to allow Muslims to use their building to worship their god I become dumbfounded! Do these people not read their Bible?
It is not enough to call yourself a Christian you must be a follower of Jesus the Son of God. Jesus is the Anointed One, He is the only way, the real truth and the source of life (John 14:6). Jesus is the Word thus when you read Scripture you are being taught by Him (2 Timothy 3:16). If you reject the words of God in exchange for the opinions of man you cannot be a follower of Christ- you are not a Christian.

2 TIMOTHY 2:15
Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

2 Timothy 3:1-7
But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control,, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn Away! For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

An un-Christian Christian- a person who is not a follower of Christ but tells people he or she is.  xxx Marsha L F Randolph

December 25th is the day we pause to celebrate the birth of Jesus the Son of God. It is not His actual date of birth however we can honor Him by blessing others. Today is also a good day for many to allow the spirit man that is in them to be born -again.

JOHN 14:6
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

Those words are tough to the unbeliever. They are not the politically correct churches declare these days but Jesus speaks truth because He is the truth. His words are infused with love, if He did not love you He would not have come to tell you.

You cannot go to heaven if you did not accept the full identity of Jesus while you are here on this earth. You must believe that He is the Son of God and also the son of man. (Mark 15:39, Luke 22:69-70)

ROMANS 10:8-10
But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

What does it mean to be saved? You must understand that the world could not have been created without God. No bangs, no evolution, only His word. Then you must come to an understanding of self how your shortcomings are in need of help- a Savior. You can believe in the Son of God but not admit to yourself that you need Him to help you; you can believe Jesus is the Son of God but not allow Him to exercise Lordship of your life. To be “saved” means that the troubles of this world cannot be victorious in your life, you are an overcomer because of what Jesus did.

Walking down the aisle of a church and repeating words someone has instructed you to say does not make you a Christian, nor does raising your hand and filling out an information card.  To be a follower of Christ requires belief and acceptance of truths that the world, including some churches, will tell you are not true such Jesus being the only way. Inviting Jesus to be Lord of your life is personal, very personal.

Romans 1:20-21
For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened.

The realities of God are all around us; it takes a lot of effort to not believe. The big bang theory was just a theory that has been dis-proven; fingerprints, the human body, including the steps involved in a baby being born are just a few of the elements that disprove a bang.  Evolution was just a theory that was also dis-proven; the fact that monkeys/ apes stopped evolving is proof enough for me. Other religions have gods that are dead or can be rebuilt but cannot present the benefits provided by the Creator through salvation such as healing.

Life is the basis of faith; the more we understand about the human body, as well as the many different types of plants and animals the easier it is to believe that HE IS. And it is in understanding the totality of living beings the easier it is to believe in a Higher Power.

The Bible speaks of the Trinity: God the Father, God the Son and God the Spirit.  Salvation is an act of faith that begins with knowing in your soul that there is a power greater than yourself and that you cannot live peacefully without the help of this power. No church can teach you how to believe but the Spirit of God can reveal these truths to you and often uses man to do so.

By definition a savior is one who rescues; Jesus is Savior the One who can rescue you from the penalties of sin.  Some people think they can save themselves, correct their own mistakes, until they are faced with a situation that proves otherwise.  We all need Father God to help us daily.
How do we establish a relationship with God knowing that we are such imperfect beings? Jesus said: “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” If you believe that Jesus: is the only begotten Son of Father God; He was born of a virgin; He was crucified for the sins of others; He spent three days and three nights in a tomb; and then Father God raised Him from the dead, then you can have the benefits of salvation.  What you believe you confess.

I believe Jesus is the Son of God and the son of man. I believe that God the Father raised Jesus from the dead. I believe Jesus was born of a virgin, lived on earth as a man, was ridiculed, disrespected, rejected by many, bruised, wounded, endured 39 stripes and lived and was then nailed to the cross and hung to die. I believe Jesus was buried and spent three days and three nights in hell. I believe Jesus took back what Satan had taken from man and returned to earth being raised from the dead by God the Father. I believe Jesus spent some time on earth after being raised from the dead before publicly being ascending into heaven. I believe that Jesus my Lord and Savior is sitting on the right hand of Father God waiting for the day Father tells Him to return to earth.
I forgive those who have committed wrongs against me and ask and receive the Forgiveness of Father God.(Mark 11:25) I accept Jesus as Lord and ask Him to be Lord of my life. I yield myself to His will therefore I am saved and receive the benefits thereof. AMEN

MATTHEW 1:18-25
Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit. Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not wanting to make her a public example, was minded to put her away secretly. But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.”

So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying: “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.”

Then Joseph, being aroused from sleep, did as the angel of the Lord commanded him and took to him his wife, and did not know her till she had brought forth her firstborn Son.And he called His name Jesus.

LUKE 1:28-38  2:8-14
And having come in, the angel said to her, “Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!”

But when she saw him,she was troubled at his saying, and considered what manner of greeting this was. Then the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus. He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end.”

Then Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I do not know a man?”

And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God. Now indeed, Elizabeth your relative has also conceived a son in her old age; and this is now the sixth month for her who was called barren. For with God nothing will be impossible.”

Then Mary said, “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.

Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.”

And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying:

“Glory to God in the highest,
And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!”

ROMANS 15:7-13
Therefore receive one another, just as Christ also received us,to the glory of God. Now I say that Jesus Christ has become a servant to the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made to the fathers, and that the Gentiles might glorify God for His mercy, as it is written:
“For this reason I will confess to You among the Gentiles, and sing to Your name.”
And again he says: “Rejoice, O Gentiles, with His people!”
And again: “Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles! Laud Him, all you peoples!”
And again, Isaiah says: “There shall be a root of Jesse; and He who shall rise to reign over the Gentiles, in Him the Gentiles shall hope.”
Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

ISAIAH 9:6-7

For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the increase of His government and peace
There will be no end,
Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom,
To order it and establish it with judgment and justice
From that time forward, even forever.
The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.

A person going to a book store to purchase his first Bible may get overwhelmed by the selection. Over the years I have reviewed quite a few, including a number of New King James Versions of the Bible, I have kept many and given away even more. But, each of these Bible translations offers something very unique and the Thomas Nelson’s NKJV KNOW THE WORD STUDY BIBLE is no different.
So let’s break it down. What does the NKJV KNOW THE WORD STUDY BIBLE have to offer?
Book Summary: This is just a sentence or two that let’s the reader know what to expect.
How to Study: This section, found at the beginning of each book helps the reader prepare by presenting questions to ask and things to look for.
Study the Book Highlights: Through out each book are overviews inserted at the beginning of the book the reader is made aware of what these overviews are. Each “Study the Book” includes “More Insight”
Topical Articles:  There are certain concepts / beliefs that are basic to Christianity. These subjects are shared by presenting 5- 6 Biblical references in which the reader can review for himself. For example: The Trinity is presented in Genesis, Deuteronomy, Matthew, John and Galatians.
Commentary: At the bottom of each page are notes, commentaries of a particular verse or word.  Something pretty standard in many study Bibles.
Cross References: Cross reverences are included at the bottom of the page along with the comments where necessary. There is not a section specifically dedicated to references.
Concordance and Maps: The standard concordance and maps are included. Also presented at the back of the book are information regarding- money, weight and measurements.

Just as important as the content is readability. The font size is good and the words of Christ are in red.
In this world of more than one style of Bible I recommend NKJV KNOW THE WORD STUDY BIBLE, particularly if you are doing a topical study on the basics of faith.

Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this book free from the publisher through the BookLook Bloggers <> book review bloggers program. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. MARK 7:13
“making the word of God of no effect through your tradition which you have handed down. And many such things you do.”

I recently visited a church whose messages I had seen on YouTube. My experience was positive: the greeter engaging, the people were pleasant, and the worship was beautiful. The message was timely and intellectually stimulating, the Pastor encouraged the listeners to study for themselves. I enjoyed everything about the overall experience including the free coffee. I left with an invite to a free thanksgiving breakfast and a bag to be used to replenish the food pantry.
When I talked to the “campus” Pastor I shared with him my reluctance at visiting sooner. I was not keen on the idea of watching a Pastor preach from a video screen. The place I visited was a satellite building the actual message was being preached in another building not to far from where we were but far enough traffic wise that this place was more convenient to many of its’ members. The Pastor was very understanding, he did not offer an opinion one way or another; I told him I would be back. If I can watch the service at home and be OK with it then I could just as easily drive to the campus and watch the service with a few other people on the big screen; hmmmmmmm.
As I was leaving I began thinking, we cant’ see church like we use to. Tradition has it that we have to ‘join’ a particular group and ‘attend’ weekly that group exclusively.
A few weeks ago a woman I know was telling me her Pastor had informed the body of believers at her church that they were going to start having church outside in the park and the events would not be announced. According to this person, her Pastor informed the people: you cannot reach the unsaved if the unsaved are outside of the four walls, they must be ready to share the gospel.
If the purpose of the church is to make disciples then, yes, having a church service outside so all the world can hear the truth is a good idea. Personally, I believe the purpose of the church is to teach the believers so that they can go out into the world and share the good news but if this is how he is going to teach his flock how to do this- more power to him!
I would rather watch a Pastor preaching on a big screen in the park any day than one sitting behind a pulpit preaching a very traditional message that will not help me grow in faith. We are in the final days, rather Jesus comes today, tomorrow or in twenty years there are many people who are not ready. The fruit of traditional church messages can be seen throughout the land, as our children behave in such abominable ways. I walked away from traditional churches long ago but I also see churches that pretend to be new but are still rooted in their traditions.
The message of victory in Jesus is lost in the materialism of many church leaders who need bigger and fancier churches. Mega-cruises, mega-retreats and over the top Christmas pageants have replaced the simple message of salvation through Jesus. In the 80’s and 90’s people had needs and sowed seeds only to realize in the new millennium the needs were still there. Instead of helping people to understand what is really needed denominational and non-denominational church leaders alike made a big to-do about missions: if you can’t go sponsor someone.

For it’s by God’s grace that you have been saved. You receive it through faith. It was not our plan or our effort. It is God’s gift, pure and simple. You didn’t earn it, not one of us did, so don’t go around bragging that you must have done something amazing.
I visited a church that did not treat me as a stranger, a person who needed special treatment, but as a sister in Christ coming home and needing a cup of coffee. It was clear that I was a visitor since I was the only person of color in the room but that did not matter. Of all the things that I loved about this church- CHRIST JOURNEY- the fact that I was not treated as a “Black” woman was totally awesome! Yes, I will be going back with a bag full of food for the pantry. Will I join the church? Unless the Spirit of God tells me otherwise no.

  • Today we are faced with the challenge of not only sharing the gospel with those who have not heard it before but in re-educating those who have been taught incorrectly. A Pastor once said:There are two types of people in the world saved and unsaved. I have discovered there are two types of Christians in the world: Those who know the word and no they are saved and those who don’t know the word and think they are saved. It is harder to teach those who think they know it all but while there is time we must do what we can.

For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified.

When I first started writing this book I called it DON'T PRAY FOR ME!  There are some people whose prayers I don't want answered but God is merciful and He wanted me to be merciful.  After over thirty years of praying and seeing the miraculous and the disastruous I believe there are some fundamental concepts everyone needs to understand before they go before the Father. NO, it is not about your tithe or your church attendance record.

The following is the first chapter in my book BEFORE YOU PRAY FOR ME  PART I.  This book as does the complete edition which will be available in print sometime in 2017 contains the elements of praying. I do not believe there is one 'real' way to pray however there are some concepts that everyone should be aware of.

And he brought them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?””  Acts 16:30 NKJV

The Apostle Paul and Silas had been beaten with “many stripes” prior to having their feet bound by stocks and placed in prison. Scripture reveals that despite their unjust incarceration, their pain and discomfort the Apostles prayed and worshiped God. As they lived according to their faith the prisoners as well as the guards listened. (Acts:16:22-23).

So faith proceeds from hearing, as we listen to the message about God’s Anointed.” Romans 10:17 The Voice

In the midst of the praise and worship, around midnight, “there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were loosed” (Acts 16:26 NKJV). The men could have easily left but everyone stayed; had they departed it would have led to the execution of the guard.
The once sleeping guard saw the effects of an earthquake that was strong enough to loose chains, knock the bars off bolted doors but not destroy the building. Believing that everyone had escaped the guard was ready to kill himself but Paul quickly intervened- assuring him that everyone was still there. (Acts 16:23-28) What he heard and saw led the Keeper of the Prison to ask: “What do I have to do to be saved?” They answered: “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.” (Acts 16:31)

QUESTION: What do people see you do and hear you speak?

How do you “Believe on the Lord Jesus the Son of God?” The Apostles demonstrated an unyielding trust in God through Jesus despite their circumstances that led to the deliverance of many including the Prison Guard and his family.
Before you can fully grasp the power and authority you have to pray successfully you must understand that believing is more than a  “Confessions of faith.”

THINK ABOUT: How much you depend on and trust in God.

That same night Paul and Silas shared the good news regarding the saving grace of God through Jesus. They shared the gospel in the home of the Prison Guard who listened along with his family. This knowledge, which was preceded by the praise and worship of two people, led to the changing of minds and the transformation of a household.

Do not allow this world to mold you in its own image. Instead, be transformed from the inside out by renewing your mind. As a result, you will be able to discern what God wills and whatever God finds good, pleasing, and complete.” Romans 12:2 The Voice
This new way of thinking led the guard to clean the wounds of both Paul and Silas; an act of repentance as well as a demonstration of mercy and love. This was followed by the water baptism of he and his family, a public demonstration of belief in the birth, death and resurrection of Jesus the Son of God. And then he, his family and the Apostles ate together in fellowship. (Acts 16:31-34)
These events did not occur over a period of days, weeks, or months. The confession of faith, Baptism and communion occurred without fanfare.

But someone will say, “You have faith ;I have deeds.” Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds.” James 2:18 NIV

Some religions require specific activities as a demonstration of faith and proving an individual is saved. Paul and Silas did not go into the prison and begin witnessing to the other prisoners. (I find it interesting that they were able to lead people to faith not with great material things but how they endured pain and suffering.) What you consistently “do” daily reveals what you believe and who you believe in.

QUESTION: Do you know what it means to be saved?

Followers of Jesus believe:
He is God- part of the Trinity (1 John 5:7);
He was in the beginning -the Word (John 1:1);
He entered the natural world through the womb of a virgin- Mary (Matthew 1:18-25) and became flesh (John 1:14).
We believe Jesus lived as the son of man - through the lineage of David (Matthew 1) but without sin (2 Corinthians 5:21).
We believe Jesus died through crucifixion and then arose from the dead and is now seated on the right hand of God the Father (Book of Hebrews).
We Believe the Bible is the infallible word of God used to teach us how to live on earth (2 Timothy 3:16).
It is through Him, Jesus, that we have victory here on earth (1 Corinthians 15:57) while we wait for His return (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18).
These truths may not be fully understood by a new Believer however to reject part is to reject all which could lead to unanswered prayer.

THINK ABOUT: Are there parts of the Bible that you believe no longer relevant today?

We use the terms saved and salvation interchangeably but what does this mean? And is there a difference? It is difficult to believe prayers can be answered if you do not understand, or fully appreciate, the definitions of these words.
Sozo is the Greek word from which we get the translated word ‘saved’, it is a verb. Verbs ‘do’; there is action associated with being saved which involves what has been done by Jesus. Jesus sozo you, you do not sozo Him; Jesus saved you, you do not save Jesus.

QUESTION: How can you believe Jesus saved you if you do not know what you are being saved from?

The New Testament Greek Lexicon defines Sozo as follows:“to save, i.e. deliver or protect (literal or figurative) :- heal, preserve, save (self), do well, be (make) whole.

When we ask a person do you want to be saved we are asking: Do you want to be delivered, rescued from, the consequences you now face because of sin? Many people today do not think they have sinned, particularly since many churches have allowed certain behaviors to be justified based on man’s thinking. (Romans 3:4)
God’s word has not changed because the calendar has. The consequences sin in the world is an inability to live as God created us to exist. Through Jesus we are delivered from those consequences which include: poor health; relationship difficulties; financial problems; lack of purpose which leads to a destructive life style; as well as an eternity in hell. No individual born to man has the ability to pay the full price required to eliminate the debt accumulated by sin (see Deuteronomy and Leviticus). Jesus, son of man- Son of God, paid the full price. To be saved is to be delivered from the consequences of sin.

Soteria is the Greek word from which we get the translated word ‘salvation.” Soteria is a noun, a noun is a person place or thing not a behavior.  Salvation is the all inclusive gift from God, through Jesus, that contains everything we need for life and godliness. Jesus saves us from a life of condemnation and gives to us everything we need.

Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue,” 2 Peter 1:2-3 NKJV

Soteria is a gift from God that must be received by the believer. According to Strong's Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary Soteria means: rescue or safety (physical or morally):- deliver, health, salvation, save, saving.
When we pray we understand: Jesus sozo(ed) us so that we could receive soteria. In believing that Jesus died for you which rescued you from the penalties of sin, you can be confident that when you pray you have what you are asking for (soteria) as long as it agrees with the Word.

We must pay the most careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away. For since the message spoken through angels was binding, and every violation and disobedience received its just punishment, how shall we escape if we ignore so great a salvation? This salvation, which was first announced by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard him. God also testified to it by signs, wonders and various miracles, and by gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will.” Hebrews 2:1-4 NIV

We have what we pray for when we receive soteria and discount what people say. Unfortunately, many people believe doctors, lawyers, financial experts and other opinions and ignore the gift of salvation. I was in the grocery store a few days ago and I saw homemade soap for sale. This particular soap I had seen in another store that specialized in healthy products and then it was no longer available. One of the reasons I started making my own stuff was because of the lack of availability of products I like being changed or taken off the market. The soap was cheaper than the soap I sold and it was actually ‘prettier.’

Why would people purchase my soap instead?

1) Ingredients - My soaps are either unscented or made with essential oils. The soaps on the grocery store shelf were made with Fragrance oil.
I use natural colorants. Though none of the soaps I offer for sale have any type of color added the soaps sold at the store use man-made products to color the soap.

2) Size- my soaps are bigger.

3) Availability- I do not mass produce soap thus my clients are able to request soaps with such scents as lavender or vanilla and I can accommodate them. You cannot beat going to the store and just grabbing a bar of soap.

My conclusion- People should purchase my soap if they want a product that is made with products as close to nature as possible.

The following is the introduction to my ebook: MOVING FORWARD BY FAITH. It is part of my testimony and why I believe Jesus is the only way.

As a child I was drawn to faith. I was never forced to attend church so, when I attended, I wanted to go. Years of church attendance, occasional Bible study classes, and various religious conferences manifested very little spiritual growth in me but I was not deterred from seeking.
Matthew 7:7 NKJV “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened.”

I was 30 when I joined a church for the first time. I stayed at that church long enough to: receive my first Bible (a gift for joining the church), get baptized in water, and indirectly Baptized in the Holy Spirit; circumstances caused me to leave that church and search for another. Over the years I joined various churches, learning something from each of them and getting involved in various ministries, but never really felt like I fit in any of them. I progressed from denominational affiliation to being associated with non-denominational churches. I use to feel troubled about going from church to church until I understood my purpose and saw the behind the scenes activity of many churches; if I cannot submit to the church leader I choose not to commit to that church.
My life has been one blessing after another even though I have yelled at Satan and pleaded with God. Over the years I have endured: an abusive marriage, bankruptcy, the death of my first born and rejection by friends and family. I have tried to be like everyone else; settling for less than what I knew I was capable of achieving but God’s word had been planted in my soul and watered by the many churches I have been associated with.
My personal experiences and the knowledge of many individuals whom I have met over the years has convinced me that every child of God can have victory in every area of his life. I do not care what your problem is: financial, relationship, or health; even the plans God has for your future can be achieved. Moving Forward by Faith is a compilation of four messages written to help the hearer let go of the past in order to fulfill his or her God given destiny. xxx exert from MOVING FORWARD BY FATIH by Marsha L F Randolph all rights reserved.

I have decided there needs to be a NEW UNDERGROUND RAILROAD to get African-Americans off the Liberal plantation. Today there are non-colored African-Americans- white people who are “down with the cause;” they all need to be set free.

Just like in the days of Harriet Tubman there need to be people who go on the plantation and lead the people through the creek under the anonymity of darkness and into safe houses where they can begin the transformation.

Just like Fredrick Douglass there needs to be a great orator who can speak against the wrongs of liberalism and what it means to be free. People have to see for themselves a person who was once bound but is now free. People have to know how valuable and life transforming education is and how no one can stop you from learning no matter how many obstacles there are in your path.

Finally there has to be One who will reveal the Truth to all men. There has to be One who people can speak openly about according to their heart, despite the risk of being ridiculed or even persecuted. There has to be that one relationship that will facilitate the deliverance of those who are stuck on the liberal plantation.

I believe there is such a movement, I see it all over the internet. One by one people are starting to want more than the lies liberalism has spoken. Some people have already ran away from the Liberal plantations. Other people are in the process of evaluating the information freedom fighters have shared. And I know there are some who are pointing out the false prophets that masquerade as followers of the Truth.

And that is the world according to NETTIE xxx Short Stories and essays and other ramblings by Marsha L F Randolph; All rights reserved do not use without the permission of the author Marsha L F Randolph

ADDENDUM: It is becoming apparent to me that there are many Overseers out their who keep people in line by misrepresenting / manipulating truths.  (More on that later)

Romans 8:24
For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees?

Concrete solutions becomes the basis of many individuals. When a person says “I hope this works” they are referring to their own measurable efforts. Even Christians put their hope in what they believe to be a ‘sure thing’  because they can see it or know the results will be visible within a set time, such as a lottery ticket. Faith is based on a hope that has nothing to do with concrete solutions or individual efforts.

Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen.

The life of the Believer is based on an unseen understanding that Father God has established a destiny for every individual that will facilitate his or her ability to overcome any obstacle. It is that invisible yet unyielding conviction that becomes the evidence that we will not be disappointed. It will be as we believe.

Romans 8:28  THE VOICE
We are confident that God is able to orchestrate everything to work toward something good and beautiful when we love Him and accept His invitation to live according to His plan.

When we submit to Father God we know we will not be disappointed by life. This submission includes allowing His Son, Jesus, to be Lord of our life. In exchange for our faith and submission He has promised to guide us to success.

Doubt is an indication of a lack of faith, not believing. Doubting, worrying, and even quitting means that hope was not really present; perhaps the individual was simply wishing, an ambiguous mindset. Wishful thinking is not faith filled thinking.

Faith is the basis of hope. Faith is the essence of why you believe you are going to receive therefore you have hope. Without faith you are hopeless.

We have not seen Him yet we believe, that is faith; it does not take faith or hope for what is visible.  Our actions reflect the confidence that we have what we prayed for but has not yet materialized.  Our hope is our prayer.

Luke 1:37
For with God nothing will be impossible.

One of the things I see in Preppers is passion. Passion is an emotion and emotions lead to behaviors that are not always beneficial. Domesday Preppers are, to say the least, extreme in their mindset to the point in which I would say some have become overly cautious; fearful.

The Bible tells us to be ready not to be fearful. Those who trust God more than man can be watchful and live in peace.

Of course the flip side is those who choose not to get ready for emergencies. Recently the news reported that the entire island of Puerto Rico was without electricity, not everyone was ready for the emergency. Nor was Flint Michigan ready for bad water. There is no where in the United States of America where some type of emergency preparedness is not necessary, everyone should be ready.

In my book YOU’RE NOT READY I discuss prepping from a Christian perspective presenting a biblical basis for prepping.

The more I learn the more I appreciate passionate Preppers, even if they are wrong they are right.  It is the passionate Preppers that teach me what I need to consider in my efforts to be ready for emergencies. Had everyone on the island of Puerto Rico been a Prepper no-lights would have been no problem.

As I have said in numerous post I am a hybrid-Prepper, mainly because my husband is not a “Prepper” though he is  more read for emergencies than most.

It wasn’t the hottest day of the summer but it was pretty close and there was very little breeze arriving on the porch where I was sitting peeling potatoes. Wilma got out of her brand new car not looking very content.

“My goodness Miss Wilma, what has got you so down?”

“I’m tired Miss Nettie, I am just plain old tired.” She answered.

“Girl, don’t let life defeat you. You have to much going on in your favor.”

“Yes, I know.” She said as she climbed up the steps onto the porch.  After kissing me on the cheek she sat down on the step for a minute and then stood back up and headed inside the house.

Wilma was one of the few people I let inside my house. I know she was going to get something to drink. And say hello to my husband who was probably in the back yard working in the garden. Five minutes later she came out with three tall glasses of ice tea with my husband following her, she handed him the keys and off he went to test drive the car.

“You gonna let that man drive your new car?”

“Of course! Poppa wanted to see what it was like and so I gave him the key.” Wilma answered as she watched her car pull out of the driveway.

“What is Aaron going to say if he finds out you let someone drive your new car?”

“Nothing. And if he did I don’t care. I am tired of all this foolish keeping up with the Joneses stuff!”

“What’s going on Wilma?”

“Miss Nettie, it is nothing that is ‘going on’ it is just things are not going. Aaron’s solution to everything is to buy more stuff. He compares his happiness to what the neighbors are doing. Our children are in private school because the neighbor’s children are in private school. I got a new car because he was talking to someone who just bought his wife a new car and he thought it would be a great idea for me to get one even though the last one is not even two years old yet.
“I have three children and drive a two seater sports car, I have to borrow a car if I want to take the kids somewhere?  Of course you know because I borrow your truck from time to time.
“All I want to do is live a simple life. He tolerates me selling my crafts, he thinks it is cute that I hang out with other women at the flea market. He doesn’t know about my website. He calls it: “something to do when I am not taking care of him”. Really! Aaron does not take my goals seriously. He does not respect my ideas and I am tired of being treated like the upstairs maid with benefits.
“I am thinking about pulling the kids out of private school and homeschooling them and parking that car and buying me a used car with my own money.”

“Why would you do that without Aaron's’ agreement?” my husband heard the tail end of Wilma’s words.

“Because Poppa whenever I tell Aaron ‘no’ he does things anyway and we just cannot afford all of these things. I mean we can technically afford it but it is not leaving us much of a cushion. Just cutting out private school for three children will alleviate enough dollars so that I can do some work around the house, some upgrades.”

“So let me get this straight.” My husband began. “You do not like the idea that you can work from home, while your children are in private school and you are forced to drive this nice sports car?”

“Yes.” Wilma answered

I had finished peeling sweet potatoes so I took them inside as my husband took his seat. When I returned Chip had finished talking and was sipping on a glass of iced tea.

“The problem isn’t the car or the school. The problem is your relationship with each other. Giving you the car is his way of saying I love you and want to care for you. When you reject the things he presents to you you are rejecting him.”

“Miss Nettie we had this conversation on more than one occasion. When I try and tell him I don’t want this stuff he works harder and trying to get more. If he does not buy for me he buys for the children - stuff they don’t want.
“He told me this morning we are going to have a catered dinner party Friday. That’s in two days, people I do not know are coming to my house to eat! Why, I don’t know! But it is suppose to be OK because it is catered. More money spent on our tight household budget.”

Wilma suddenly stood up and started walking towards her car. “Miss Nettie, Poppa, I am going to a lawyer. I just made up my mind. I am going to file for a legal separation and kick him out of the house and get my children out of that school they hate. No more fake family for us!”

“Child” Chip yelled. The tone of his voice caught us both off guard. “If you are so anti-stuff then you need to leave the house. You go and leave the children there- no need in disrupting their life because you have a problem.”

“Me Poppa? Why should I leave” A bewildered Wilma asked.

“Because, you did not earn anything. Aaron works for and pays for everything in that house. If you think he spends to much money, give him your credit cards and stop spending the money he earns. Live off of what you make - that will be the simple life. If you think that car is to fancy stop driving it- take the bus!  Don’t blame Aaron because you decided you don’t like the life you are living.”

“But Poppa…”

“Don’t Poppa me! You come here complaining because your husband bought you a new car and your children are getting an excellent education. Aaron may not enjoy the idea of you selling crafts but he does not stop you. And for the record, he does know about your website. Wilma you are being selfish and judgmental. Yes, Aaron is materialistic but he can afford his expenses as long as you don’t go credit card crazy and remodel entire rooms without telling him.”

All of a sudden I started laughing. I stood there looking at this young lady wearing a diamond tennis bracelet, diamond earrings, a large diamond ring on her finger next to her wedding band and her designer clothes.  Chip had peeped through her persona.

“Wilma,” I started “the problem is not Aaron keeping up with the Joneses but you wanting to be head of your household. Go back to work in some office, where you can boss people around and get paid to do it.”

Not expecting the response she got from either of us Wilma left without saying a word. Sometimes young women can be silly- that’s all I have to say about it.

One of the reasons I decided to stop sewing my own clothes was because it was cheaper to purchase clothes than to make them. Over the years the cost of fabric and patterns have increased and when the cost of the accessories was added to the price a good sale on a standard fit garment seemed better than tailored fit. What is available in the stores today are trendy and far to revealing for my taste so I am back to making my own clothing.

Every time I walk into a fabric store I want to kick myself. About ten years ago I decided that I had to much stuff and gave away containers filled with mostly new patterns. I also gave away some fabric that I did not know what to do with and allowed a friend to use my sewing machine!

Over the years I have developed a particular style that does not change with the season. Making my clothes has become a better option than purchasing them, particularly since they are not available. I choose to wear ankle length skirts and short sleeve blouses. Finding the right patterns has become an adventure.

The patterns that I am looking for are considered “Vintage” by many of the pattern companies which means they cost more than the standard patterns. They are the patterns I gave away! Of the available patterns the styles are not what I am looking for, I want more of an “A” line skirt. I purchased a shirt pattern that I thought would work for me but when I looked closely I discovered the fit would not hang properly on my curves.

I am not giving up. However, I refuse to pay more than $5 for a pattern so I will have to wait for a sale. Patterns can go on sale for as little as $2 each.

I am also looking for fabric. Yes, I know you can order it but I prefer to see and feel my fabric. Perhaps, in the future, I will order fabric from a particular place once I am confident in the quality of the fabric as well as the speed to which it is delivered, customer service would be a factor as well.  For now I will continue to purchase fabric at Hobby Lobby using my 40% off coupon and a few of the other non-chain places in my community.

For now I am making simple maxi skirts from a pattern shared on YouTube.

It is easy to focus on problems, the reminders of what is not right are all around you. Friends and family will remind you of your shortcomings. The media will emphasize the problems of this world. The mail will let you know about how much money you owe. And your body will let you know that you are not in perfect condition. As Believers we are told that no matter what we are going through we will have peace if we focus on Him and not the problem.

Isaiah 26:3
You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trust in You.

It is one thing to read Scripture it is another thing to believe it when problems occur. Faith is hard to hold onto when we are looking at a problem that seems insurmountable.

Hebrews 11:1 THE VOICE
Faith is the assurance of things you have hoped for, the absolute conviction that there are realities you’ve never seen.

It is not what you see that is key to overcoming but what you believe. Prayer helped Elisha’s servant see what he could not see (see 2 Kings below).  Surrounded by an army determined to kill them the servant panicked, Elisha prayed to Jehovah and the servant saw what Elisha knew was there- victory for him and his servant.

We don’t see Father God but we know He is present. He is the source of our hope for a positive outcome to our problems. Lack of faith will cause you to see your problems and become overwhelmed; faith allows you to see the victory and live in peace.

1 John 5:4
For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world- our faith.

No matter what the problem Jehovah Eloheem is the solution.

2 Kings 6:15-17
Therefore he sent horses and chariots and a great army there, and they came by night and surrounded the city. And when the servant of the man of God arose early and went out, there was an army, surrounding the city with horses and chariots. And his servants said to him, “Alas, my master! What shall we do?”
So he answered, “Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them. And Elisha prayed, and said, “Lord, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.”  Then the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

Since creating this video the former Senator and Secretary of State Mrs. Hillary R. Clinton has gone on record as supporting abortions when the mother is at term (the 9th month). She also revealed a military secret that only those who needed to know knew- the amount of time it takes to launch a nuclear weapon.

*Note I am not a medical professional. The following is my opinion and not meant to be treated as advice. Please do your own research and consult your physician.

I took Anatomy and Physiology twice when I was in school to be a Licensed Practical Nurse and then when I attended college to become a Registered Nurse; I got an A both times. The knowledge I obtained qualified me to care for individuals with all types of diseases but I did not apply that same information to my own health. I left the health care profession entirely in 2007 the knowledge I obtained remains with me.
As I and many people I know get older and I see so many of my friends and family taking prescriptions I made the conscious decision not to follow suit.  I was introduced to the AIM COMPANIES years before I started using the products. My aversion to pill taking led me to be a customer and then an Independent Distributor, my need to know as much about the product as possible facilitated my taking the necessary classes and becoming a Living Well Coach with the company. I would rather exercise and eat right than take pills that could destroy my body or worst kill me (as the commercials mention rather quickly).

The question was: Why? Why does Barley Life and Frame Essential work? Why do people tell me to drink more water and less soda? The products offered via the AIM COMPANIES has worked for me very well however they are costly. I believe they are supplements that are meant to supplement your diet until you are eating the right things. In researching the why I discovered the importance of pH.

The pH scale measures the acidity and alkalinity of a substance, even gardeners are aware of the pH of soil and plants.  The pH of various systems in the body influences how it functions. Though most people are aware of the pH of blood which is slightly alkaline not all organs have the same pH, for example gastric juice in the stomach is very acidic.

What we eat plays an important role in regulating the body’s pH. By being aware of how things we eat and drink influence the levels and what can happen if we are to acidic or to alkaline is important, particularly since it is literally a matter of life and death.

Some of the problems of having a body that is too alkaline include:  low potassium, low calcium, arthritis, allergies, and hypo-thyroid. Some of the problems associated with an acidic body includes: a dry cough, diabetic coma, irregular heart beat, muscular weakness, nausea, being tired but unable to rest, experiencing anxiety, and  frequent sighing.

Whether you are awake or asleep your body is constantly trying to maintain homeostasis- a balance. It will rob from one system to provide for the other causing problems in the system it took from. For example: if there is a calcium deficiency the body will take from the bone which will lead to such problems as arthritis.  Talk about robbing Peter to pay Paul!

The table below reveals pH levels of various fluids we are familiar with. The next table shares a list of some alkaline and acidic foods.  Now I understand why people say chemotherapy can kill you!

One of the things I learned is that people can over compensate for a deficiency creating the opposite problem. For example: people can drink to much alkaline water (I didn’t know there was such a product.)
